Darrell

B. Darrell Herring, Principal of E. T. Booth Middle School

"Decision making is very important when you are involving other human beings.  Deciding what is best can be very complicated and filled with barriers to overcome.  The key is to minimize the barriers and maximize the road of opportunity.  I deal with many barriers and obstacles when dealing with teachers, parents, county office personnel, and students on a daily basis.  My job is to remove the barriers and obstacles to enable the success of the students.  The focus of who I am can always trace itself back to the importance of my students.  I was taught by many people that life is very important.  (especially a young life)  Through constant emphasis on guided decision making, I want my students to learn the importance of life and to acquire the love of reading during their young years."

Dr. Keith Ingram, Principal of Johnston Elementary School

"I am proud to be a product of the Cherokee County School District (Class of 1978 Cherokee H.S.) and even more honored to be serving in the best school district in the state as Principal of Florine Dial Johnston Elementary School.  I have seen the county grow from 17 schools to 37, and seen the change from all roads leading to Highway 5 to the construction of I-575 and all the growth in Cherokee County."
