Rebecca's JournalHi everyone and thanks for being a part of Cherokee TV. Our mission here at Cherokee TV is to keep you connected to your community in a new and exciting way. With just a click of your mouse you can get the latest hard hitting news stories, see the most recent government meetings, see what events ae coming up and keep up with local sports. The best thing about Cherokee TV is that it is there when you need it and want it. We fit into your schedule. A lot is going on in Cherokee County, including local city elections set for the first Tuesday in Novemeber. If you are not registered to vote, now is a good time to get signed up. A lot of people complain aobut what goes on in our community, but until you take the time to get involved, you are not going to have an impact. And part of voting is educating yourself on the issues. The local media is the place to turn to get informed. In the weeks ahead we will be following the canidates and the issues in elections in Woodstock and Canton. In Canton a real change is going to take place as 12-year veteran Cecil Pruett steps down. Former sole County Commissioner Gene Hobgood has qualified to run for the seat that is being vacated, as well as Central Business District resident Art Trotter, who has been instrumental in fighting to allow office and professional development along East Main Street. Woodstock qualifying continues until Friday and we will report on all the candidates who qualify. Cherokee TV will bring you indepth coverage throughout this important election cycle with our Election 2007 reports. Let us know how you feel. If you have an issue that you want covered on Cherokee TV, a new business, event or upcoming happening, just email us and we will let the community know. As always, thanks for letting us be a part of keeping you connected to your community. -Rebecca |
