Tryout sessions for the Junior Wolverines Basketball Association (JWBA), a program for competitive athletes in 5th-8th grade seeking to prepare for playing high school basketball, are slated for the first half of October.
The 2008-2009 tryouts are only for students living in the Woodstock High School district.
A parent information meeting on JWBA is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30 at 7 p.m. in the Woodstock High School Media Center.
JWBA and other Cherokee County 6th-8th grade junior programs have combined with Cobb County junior teams to form the 22-team CCJBC conference.
Practice for players selected for JWBA are scheduled to start the week of Monday, October 13.
The tryouts schedule for girls is: 6th grade (5th graders welcome), October 4 from 1-3 p.m. and October 9 from 8-9 p.m.; 7th grade, Oct. 5 from 4-5:30 p.m. and October 12 from 4-5 p.m., and 8th grade, Oct. 5 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and October 12, 5-6 p.m.
The tryouts schedule for boys is: 6th grade (5th graders welcome), October 4 from 3- 5 p.m. and October 9, from 8-9 p.m.; 7th grade, October 5 from 1-2:30 p.m and October 12 from 6-7 p.m.; and 8th grade, October 5 from 2:30-4 p.m. and October 12, 7-8 p.m.
