The Woodstock Police Department released a composite drawing Friday morning of the suspect in the home invasion that occurred early Wednesday afternoon. Police say the woman in the apartment struck the man with a dining room chair before he fled.

Police are looking for a man who attempted a home invasion early Wednesday afternoon in a Woodstock apartment and fled after the woman inside hit him with a dining room chair.

The woman struggled with the man while her young son was also in the home, authorities said.

The Woodstock Police Department identified the woman as Waldan Chase Apartments Homes resident Trina Baldwin. Authorities said Baldwin told them she was surprised at 12:40 p.m. by a knock at the door and a man forcing his way inside.

Alone with her 3-year-old son, Baldwin struggled with the attacker, toppling over a fish aquarium before she struck the man with a dining room chair, authorities said.

After the man fled the scene, Baldwin ran to a neighbor’s apartment with her son and called 911.

Authorities are seeking the public's help in capturing the man.

Woodstock Police say they are looking for a white man who is about 30 years old, 5 foot 11 inches to 6 feet, approximately 200 pounds, short light blond hair, clean shaven, with a scar on his left cheek.

He reportedly was wearing a white T-shirt, dark sweat pants and black Velcro athletic shoes.

Authorities are urging anyone with any information to contact the Investigative Services Division of the Woodstock Police Department at (770) 592-6030.

Woodstock Police Public Information Officer Paul Brown praised Baldwin for her quick response to the attacker.

“This could have easily escalated into a more serious situation for Baldwin and her son," Brown said. "We are thankful they were not harmed during the incident.”
