Woodstock Police Department investigators obtained arrest warrants Thursday for two suspects allegedly involved in a series of financial scams, including a forged check used to buy more than $1,000 of merchandise at the local BJ's Wholesale Warehouse, authorities announced Friday.

Woodstock Police investigators executed multiple search warrants in Gwinnett County that resulted in the recovery of additional forged documents, computers, fake credit cards and items believed to have been purchased during the two suspect's alleged spree, including several large LCD panel TV’s and equipment used to manufacture false identification, authorities said.

The investigation began in early August after two males used the forged check at BJ’s.

Authorities said detectives began tracking other forged checks passed by the pair that led them to Norcross and ultimately to Roy William Pruitt and a second suspect, Gregory Jamar Body.

Body and Pruitt have been arrest records for forgery and other financial scams, police said.

“We received tremendous cooperation from the Gwinnett County Police Department Financial Crimes Unit,” said Woodstock Police Detective John Steelman “And are working with them very closely to identify other merchants victimized by these guys.”
