A dispute over laundry washing chores in a Woodstock home turn violent, according to the Woodstock Police Department.

Woodstock Police responded to a domestic stabbing at a residence on Woodglen Court during the late evening hours of July 23. Police say 33-year-old Gustavo Quintero and 27-year-old Sergio Quintero, brothers who live at the residence, were stabbed during a physical altercation with another household member.

Gustavo Quintero became involved in a fight with 25-year-old Gerzain Sanchez- Hernandez, another member of the household, police say. When Sergio Quintero attempted to break up the altercation, Huber Daniel Sanchez-Hernandez, 28-year-old brother of Gerzain Sanchez-Hernandez, allegedly stabbed the two brothers in a purported attempt to defend his own brother, authorities say.

The Quintero brothers were transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital and treated for multiple stab wounds and later released.

According to Woodstock Police detectives, Huber Daniel Sanchez-Hernandez, who surrendered to detectives accompanied by his attorney, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault under Georgia's Family Violence Act.  Gustavo Quintero is charged with one count of simple battery under the Family Violence Act.

Police say the physical altercation and subsequent stabbing were the result of a verbal argument between household members about laundry chores.

“Unfortunately it is not uncommon for domestic crimes to begin over simple matters between family members or other persons living together in the same household,” said Woodstock Police Chief Ric Moss.
