Gas pumps at the BP by the Canton Wal-Mart were covered last week as the fuel shortage in the wake of Hurricanes Ike and Gustav continued at many gas stations throughout metro Atlanta.
The gas crisis appears to have eased a bit, according to scattered reports of fuel flowing at gas stations that had be mostly dry over the past two weeks in Cherokee County and metro Atlanta.
While frustrated motorists have passed many empty pumps and lines of motorists at pumps with fuel formed along the daily routes of Cherokee commuters between Atlanta and their homes and businesses, some are reporting they've managed to fill their tanks.
Still, the crisis reportedly is expected to linger for at least several days into October, according to published reports.
The shortages are occurring after Hurricanes Ike and Gustav disrupted the flow of fuel by striking the Gulf of Mexico and much of the nation's oil refining capacity.
