Holly Springs Mayor, City Council Members Unopposed for Re-Election

Holly Springs Mayor Tim Downing and three incumbent members of the Holly Springs City Council are the only candidates who signed up during the general election qualifying period.

Along with Downing, Councilwoman Karen Barnett, Councilwoman Jacqueline Patrick and Councilman Jeremy Smith applied as candidates during the August 25-27 qualifying period for the November 4 general election, said Holly Springs City Clerk Karen Norred.

The mayor and three of the five city council seats are the only city elective offices up for election in 2008. The officials serve four-year terms.
