Fatal Car Accident on Hwy 20

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a call on October 28th of an accident on Cumming Hwy near Water Tank Road. The scene they arrived at was a head on collision between a black Ford pick up truck and a white Toyota Scion XB. Trapped in the vehicle, the driver of the Scion had to be removed using the jaws of life and was later transported by life flight helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center.

The 37 year old passenger in the Scion was transported by ambulance to Kennestone Hospital where she later died. The driver of the truck was taken by ambulance to North Fulton Hospital. Hwy 20 was blocked on both lanes until operations were complete and the cause of the accident is being investigated by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
