Truck lands in water August 26 crash

The 43-year-old female driver of the pickup that landed in a pool of water off Interstate 575 was removed from the vehicle by Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services personnel.

A truck crashed Tuesday morning into a pool of water off an embankment along Interstate 575 just south of the Howell Bridge Road in northern Cherokee County, said Tim Cavender, director of public information for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.

The 43-year-old female driver of the pickup "was removed from the vehicle and was complaining of injuries to her back and her ribs," Cavender said. She was taken to Northside Hospital-Cherokee in Canton to be evaluated, Cavender said.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. August 26 by the interstate's southbound lanes, Cavender said. The pool of water was caused by recent rains, he said. 

Squad takes patient August 26 crash

The victim in the August 26 accident was removed from the vehicle and transported to Northside Hospital-Cherokee in Canton. She was complaining of injuries to her back and ribs, the spokesman for Cherokee Fire-ES said.
