Move of County Administrative Offices set for mid-October

The Cherokee County government announced on October 2 the moving dates for county administrative offices out of downtown Canton to the Bluffs of Technology Park. The statement is posted below:

The Cherokee County Administrative Offices will relocate to the Bluffs Parkway during the week of October 13th, 2008. The new Administrative Offices and Conference Center, located at 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton, will house the following county departments: Board of Commissioners, County Manager, County Clerk, IT, GIS/mapping, community services, finance, purchasing, human resources, planning and zoning, engineering, building inspections, business licenses, property management, and fire marshal.

Environmental Health will be relocating to the new facility later in the year.

Offices will be fully operational as quickly as possible, most likely no later than October 20th. County phone numbers will remain the same.

We appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our citizens and look forward to the exciting opportunities that the new administrative offices and conference center hold. Though there will be a brief interruption of services, we feel confident that our residents will be served even more efficiently once we are in the new facility. Therefore, on behalf of the Board of Commissioners, I ask that our residents, customers, and fellow employees bear with us as we make this transition.

Directions to the facility from Cherokee County Justice Center: Travel west on North Street, turn left onto West Main Street. Continue on to follow West Main as it becomes Main Street East. Turn left onto the ramp on I-575 North. Exit at Riverstone Pkwy (Exit 20), turn left. Turn right onto Riverstone Boulevard; travel approximately .5 mi and turn slight right onto Bluffs Parkway.Administrative Offices and Conference Center is on the right.


From I-575 : Travel North on I-575 to Exit 20 (Riverstone Parkway); turn left on Riverstone Pkwy; turn right at second traffic signal onto Riverstone Boulevard. Travel approximately 0.5 miles and turn slight right onto Bluffs Parkway. Administrative Offices and Conference Center on the right.
