CRPA Presents Fall Hay Day/Chili Cook-Off on October 11

Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency (CRPA) is presenting both the 2008 Fall Hay Day and the Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, October 11, officials announced.

CRPA is again joining forces with M.U.S.T. (Ministries United in Service and Training) Cherokee to offer Fall Hay Day as family fun for all ages. The cost to attend is one, new unwrapped toy per family. All toys will be donated to M.U.S.T Cherokee for the upcoming holiday season.

The festival activities will include carnival style games, a moonwalk and slide, pony and hayrides, cakewalk, prizes, food, dunking booth, mini-haunted house and more.  Children can also visit with their favorite movie and cartoon characters. The event is Saturday, October 11 from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Twin Creeks Softball Complex in JJ Biello Park in Woodstock.

In conjunction with Hay Day, the third annual Chili Cook-Off is also on October 11. Cooking begins at 8a.m., tasting begins at 11a.m. and the announcement of winners at 1:45 p.m. Prizes will be given for Taster’s Choice, Judge’s Choice and the Best Decorated booth. Cooks are being accepted; the cost is $30.
