The 7th Annual Protect the Etowah River Cleanup is Saturday, October 4 at Boling Park in Canton.
A Rivers Alive registered event, the Etowah River Cleanup is from 9 a.m. to noon.
Free refreshments will be served and a hotdog cookout is slated for noon.
Free T-shirts will be available for participants, while the supply lasts.
Children accompanied by an adult are welcome.
Rivers Alive events are annual waterway cleanups organized by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Watershed Protection Division and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, along with support from statewide and local community sponsors.
Local sponsors of the Etowah River Cleanup include the Cherokee County Stormwater Division and the Upper Etowah River Alliance.
