The City of Woodstock has announced its 2009 Summer Concert Series line up and a new partnership with Northside Hospital-Cherokee to present this year's concerts. Northside Hospital-Cherokee has agreed to be the Presenting/Title sponsor for this year's concert series. Parks and Recreation Director Preston Pooser has this to say: "We are extremely excited to partner with Northside Hospital-Cherokee to provide this year's concert series. The hospital is a tremendous asset to Woodstock and all of Cherokee County."
The 2009 Woodstock Summer Concert Series line-up includes: Shawn Mullins on May 9, the Swinging Medallions on June 13, Shenandoah on July 11, the Randall Bramblett Band on August 8 and the Great American Rock and Roll Revival on September 12. Concerts are conducted in the downtown City Park and attendance ranges from several hundred to a few thousand.
Mayor Donnie Henriques stated: "I think this year's line-up is a good mix of musical types that should have a wide-ranging appeal. We are especially excited to welcome back the Swinging Medallions after a six-year absence".
Pooser said, "The Woodstock Summer Concert Series, now in its 12th year, is a well established concert series with a loyal and expanded following. Each year, the Woodstock Concert Series continues to generate excitement within the community and provide an opportunity to enjoy some of the best national recording artists as well as emerging local music talent."
Pooser added, "...we are also seeking additional sponsors. The Woodstock Summer Concert Series offers a unique marketing opportunity for companies to gain exposure and become co-branded with one of North Georgia's most successful and continuously running community events." In addition to "day of event" exposure, companies will be featured in three months of highly visible pre-concert series marketing as well as ongoing promotions throughout the five month long concert series.
