Rivers Alive Cleanup in Hickory Flat is October 11

The 10th Annual Rivers Alive Cleanup in Hickory Flat will include the grounds of Hickory Flat Elementary, Dean Rusk Middle and Sequoyah High schools. Free refreshments and also free T-shirts for the first 50 participants.


Etowah River Cleanup is Saturday, October 4

The Saturday cleanup is from 9 a.m. to noon at Boling Park. Refreshments, free T-shirts and a hotdog cookout are planned for the annual event in Canton.


Johnston Elementary's Fall Festival is October 18

Ball Ground's 125th Anniversary Celebration is September 27th

Dedication of the new Ball Ground City Hall, photograph exhibits, and other activities are planned for the Quasquicentennial Anniversary. Performances of "Yesterday in the Hills" by Tater Patch Players are also part of the celebration on September 26 and 27. The play by Lawton Baggs is based on the book of the same title by Floyd C. and Charles Hubert Watkins on the Ball Ground area.


Benefit for Cherokee firefighter slated for September 27
