Cherokee Ford in Woodstock has started its First Annual "Drive For Excellence" incentive-based program for recognizing Cherokee County high school juniors and seniors for good grades and attendance.

Students with excellent attendance records and grades will have the opportunty to win a new Ford or one of four laptop computers, officials say.

The computers will be awarded through drawings during the 2009-2009 school year and a new Ford Focus or compariably-priced Ford will be awarded at the end of the school year, officials say.

To enter, students must bring their official grade card and photo ID to Cherokee Ford at the end of each grading period.

“We are excited to provide this great opportunity for Cherokee County’s high school students,” said Cherokee Ford Sales Manager Matt Krause.  “Education is a top priority, and we hope this will be a great incentive for students to focus on their grades and attendance, as well as strengthen our relationship with the schools.”

The Cherokee Ford program will be open to all high school juniors and seniors (ages 16 and older) from Etowah, Woodstock, Cherokee, Sequoyah, Creekview, Polaris and CrossRoads high schools.

Cherokee County School Superintendent Dr. Frank R. Petruzielo supports the program.

“I truly appreciate Cherokee Ford’s creative approach to motivating and rewarding student achievement and attendance,” Petruzielo said.
