AIM students at Macedonia Elementary are getting involved in history. Students in the first through third grade AIM program had the opportunity to write letters to President Obama's daughters, Sasha and Malia.
First grader Jenna Holden suggested to the girls, "Don't both your dad while he's working." Caroline Gibson, a second grader, heard about the search for the perfect First Dog and suggested a golden retriever "because they're very playful." Several third graders empathized with Sasha and Malia Obama on having to leave their friends and school to move to a new city. They also asked questions about living in the White House.
"I thought it was an interesting activity to do, because I've never written letters to the White House before," commented 2nd grader Annabella Boyle.
