The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce received several honors during the annual conference of the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (GACCE) held July 8-11 on Jekyll Island.
The Cherokee Chamber was awarded Communication Awards, including the Gold Distinction for the Cherokee Pignic campaign and the Silver Distinction for the following campaigns: I’ve Walked in Your Shoes, Discover Cherokee, Operation Thank You and the Chamber Website, www.CherokeeChamber.com.

Cherokee Chamber President and CEO Pam Carnes said the honors given to the organization provides recognition throughout Georgia.
“I was honored to accept the Communication Awards on the Chamber’s behalf,” said Carnes.
“There is a true feeling of accomplishment for our Chamber and staff to be recognized on a state-wide level, as with Cori’s scholarship to the American Chamber of Commerce Executives Association annual conference," Carnes added.

Carnes, who served as GACCE Board Chair in 2005-2006, has been named to the GACCE Board of Directors for 2008-2009.
GACCE assists chamber executives and their staffs throughout Georgia in community leadership and in serving their members.
