Submissions
Do you have an article that you want to share with The Preservation Channel audience? If so, please submit it to us as The Preservation Channel wants to publish your well-written, topical and informative articles.
Articles - Any preservation related subject including:
- Historic preservation in general
- Building preservation
- Site preservation
- Cultural travel
- Historic gardens
- Preservation tools and techniques
Format: Articles published are generally under 2,000 words in length and must be preservation related. The article should be well formatted and free of spelling errors. Supporting material, pictures (for which you own all rights) and links to Web sites that expand the topic are welcome.
Editing: The Preservation Channel reserves the right to edit your submission for clarity, style, format, brevity and to enhance search engine placement. In addition, The Preservation Channel will, at its discretion, have the right to remove any pictures or Web site links that are included in your article.
Payment: The Preservation Channel currently does not pay for article submissions. You will only receive by-line credit for your article.
Content: Any submission which is overly commercial in nature, does not meet standards of The Preservation Channel, or is not well-written will not be published. Each article may include optional links to your web site and/or email address.
Publication: Upon receipt of your article, The Preservation Channel may, but will not be required to publish it. In addition, if The Preservation Channel does publish your Article, it will not be under any obligation to notify you of the publication.
Author Rights: The Preservation Channel retains non-exclusive rights to archive your article on the site and all other rights as stated in the disclaimer below, which you must agree to in order to be published. At no point do you lose your rights to your work.
Submission: To submit an article for possible publication, send it via e-mail (either as an attachment or in the body of the e-mail) to submission@thepreservationchannel.com. In the body of the e-mail, you MUST include the following disclaimer. Any submissions that are not accompanied by the following disclaimer will NOT be considered for publication.
I certify that I am the author or sole owner of the material I am submitting to The Preservation Channel, a division of ZeelTV, LLC. The Preservation Channel, its parent and affiliated companies, and its licensees may reproduce, distribute, publish, display, edit, modify, create derivative works and otherwise use the material for any purpose in any form and on any media. I agree to indemnify The Preservation Channel, its parent and affiliated companies, and its licensees for all damages and expenses that may be incurred in connection with the material and understand that my submission will be subject to The Preservation Channel’s current Terms of Service as published on its website.
Submission Note: By submitting material, you acknowledge that you are legally entitled to distribute the work and to allow it to be redistributed. If you are a book publisher or public relations firm with copy to distribute, please include a note to that effect at the top of the article you submit.
