Diabetes Prevention Class Offered in Towne Lake

Northside Hospital-Cherokee is offering a new class on diabetes for anyone at risk for the disease or diagnosed with pre-diabetes.

The class meets the second Tuesday of each month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Northside-Cherokee Medical Office Building, 100 Stone Forest Drive, in the first floor conference room. The building is off Towne Lake Parkway, just west of Interstate 575.

The cost is $35. Registration is required.

Diabetes often has no symptoms. With almost 750,000 Georgians with diabetes, Northside Hospital-Cherokee is offering the class so participants can learn about diabetes prevention and understand the disease,  including tips on nutriion and healthy meals, how to count carboyhdrates, abougt blood glucose levels and the difference between insulin resistance, pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes.
